During Catherine’s training she studied Conventional Western Medicine alongside Eastern Medicine. As part of the course, Catherine learned safe needling techniques, Tuina, a type of Chinese Medical massage. Moxibustion, and cupping-therapy cupping therapy.
As a qualified Nurse, with over 30 years of experience, Catherine has worked in a variety of settings. These include Hospitals, Schools and peoples own homes. She can combine her knowledge of both Eastern and Western Medical perspectives. Catherine is currently employed as a part time Support worker for Headway Thames Valley.
Catherine is trained in both; Five element and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Catherine is able to augment her Acupuncture practice herbal teas (elixir teas); she can prescribe these to Patients, as and when necessary.
Catherine is a Registered General Nurse. She studied at St James’ University Hospital qualifying in 1985. In 2012 Catherine enrolled at the world renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine to study Acupuncture. She qualified, gaining a Bsc Hons in 2015.
Catherine is also able to give lifestyle advice e.g. diet and exercise. Catherine is passionate about Acupuncture and the benefits it can bring. She keeps her practice credible and up to date by continuing Professional Development.She has recently been training in Dragon and Tiger Medical Qigong.
Catherine is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and, as a result, follows their Codes of conduct and safe Practices. Anything discussed between Catherine and her clients is treated with respect and confidentiality as laid down by the MBAcC.
